Guardians can now handle banking on behalf of a child with their own user IDs

With their user ID, a guardian or authorised representative can now take care of banking on behalf of a child under the age of 7. For this reason, we will deactivate the user IDs of children under the age of 7 on 8 June 2021. Such IDs can no longer be used after then. This is due to a change in legislation, which prevents the granting of user IDs to children under 7.

We will send a letter in March to those customers affected by the termination of user IDs. Guardians or authorised representatives can start using their op.fi service to manage banking for a minor now, or choose to do so later.

If a guardian or authorised representative has their own user ID, they can use the op.fi service to manage a minor’s banking matters. Managing banking matters on behalf of a minor requires the consent of all the minor’s guardians.

If you are a guardian or authorised representative who would like to activate your own OP user ID, click on the link below for instructions.
