Helsinki District Court’s interlocutory judgment regarding business interruption insurance claims to Pohjola Insurance due to contagious disease

On 11 November 2021, Helsinki District Court issued an interlocutory judgment regarding the scope of coverage provided by Pohjola Insurance’s business interruption cover against contagious disease. 
In its interlocutory judgment, the District Court dismissed part of the claims made by the restaurants as claimants while upholding part of the claims. The interlocutory judgement is not yet legally valid and the parties have announced that they would appeal against the sentence. Therefore, the case has been taken to higher courts.
