At its meeting on 28 October 2022, OP Fund Management Company Ltd’s Board of Directors decided on the merger of the OP-Latin America Fund into the OP-Emerging Markets Equity Fund. On 3 November 2022, the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority gave approval for the merger that will be implemented on 15 December 2022.
The merger will not require any action on the part of unitholders: With the mergers, we will eliminate overlaps between our funds and provide the unitholders of the merging funds with investment instruments that we regard as having potential for better returns in the long term.
In connection with the merger, the assets of OP-Latin America will be transferred to OP-Emerging Markets Equity by cashing in them or transferring the financial instruments to the acquiring fund. The unitholders of the merging funds will receive holdings in the acquiring fund in proportion to their holdings in the merging funds.
Unitholders of the funds involved in the merger have the right to redeem their units without any fee between 15 November and 14 December 2022. A message of this matter has also been sent to them on the op.fi service and OP-mobile.
