OP Kainuu Ticket benefit for Runon lintu ja liekki village opera performances 17–19 July 2026

Runon lintu ja liekki village opera will be performed 17–19 July 2026 in the historic Ylitalo stone barn in Vaala (Suutarinkyläntie 196, 92830 Vaala). Runon lintu ja liekki village opera is a deeply human and artistic portrayal of the life of Finland’s first female lyric poet, Isa Asp. The production is directed by Professor Panu Rajala. Leading roles: Isa – soprano Emilia Haataja, Isa’s father – baritone Esa Ruuttunen, mother – soprano Satu Lotvonen, Joel Backman – baritone Samuel Heikkinen and J. H. Erkko – tenor Roope Pelo. There are also several smaller roles. A large choir and instrumental ensemble are also featured. Tickets €25 for OP owner-customers (normally €30). Performances: • Fri 17 July 2026 at 19:00, premiere • Sat 18 July 2026 at 14:00 and 19:00 • Sun 19 July 2026 at 14:00 and 19:00 Duration including interval approx. 2 h 15 min The opera includes an interval with paid refreshments. The arrangements are managed by Suutarinkylä Rural Association.
