OP Debit

With OP Debit, you can pay your purchases and withdraw money directly from your account. This card is intended for people over 15 years old.

Are you over 18? We recommend our combination card for you

A combination card is both a debit and credit card. When buying online or paying bigger purchases, having a combination card has its advantages.

-

  • Pay your purchases wherever you are

With an OP Debit card, you pay your purchases in Finland, abroad or online always directly from your account. You can also withdraw cash in Finland and abroad.

  • Ideal card for a joint family account

Grocery shopping becomes easier if you have a joint family account. Link debit cards to it and everyone can pay groceries directly from the same account.

Payment with OP Debit

  • The debit feature means that payments are always directly debited from your account. This card has no credit feature.
  • You can use contactless payment for all card purchases. Purchases of over 50 euros have to be confirmed by entering your PIN in the card reader, but you do not need to insert your card in the reader.
  • You have the option to include the K-Plussa feature to this card, to reduce the number of cards in your wallet.
  • Add your card to Apple Pay or Google Pay™ to pay easily with your smart device wherever you are.

Apply OP Debit card for a young person

You can order a debit card for your underage child through our Customer Service, but completing the order always requires a visit to the branch.

Book an appointment at a bank branch

If both parents can’t visit the branch at the same time, one of them can create a power of attorney in advance to authorise the other parent to apply for the underage child’s card. OP’s customers can create powers of attorney by logging into the op.fi service (in Finnish), under Oma profiili (My profile). We suggest authorising all desired banking arrangements for the underage child at the same time. If a parent doesn’t have OP’s user ID, please contact OP Customer Service.

If neither parent can be present, you can give your consent to the underage child getting a card and OP’s user ID on their own. In this case, too, please contact our Customer Service.

When applying for the card, the young person must come to branch in person, to learn about the use of the card. They need to show an identity document, such as a passport, ID card or moped driving licence. The attending parent can identify themself with a driving licence.

For the young person to be able to pay with the card online, or add it as the preferred payment method in apps or services, they will need a personal OP’s user ID.
