The Backpack for Every Back campaign aims to ensure that as many children as possible have their own backpack at the start of school year. Families with children are under financial strain due to sharply rising living costs. Therefore, it is increasingly important to support the equal opportunities of children and young people. A neat backpack of one’s own is necessary in everyday school life. It also helps the child feel like a part of their peer group.
The collection of backpacks was first organised in 2017. The campaign quickly grew to become nationwide. Each year, we have collected thousands of backpacks for elementary school children of different ages throughout Finland.
Hope ry has the important goal of providing all children with an equal chance to thrive in everyday life. OP Financial Group also wishes to promote equal opportunities across Finland and improve children’s and young people’s confidence in the future.
