OP Online Payment Accessibility Statement

This statement concerns the accessibility of the OP Online Payment service.

The online store or payment service provider sends service users directly to the identity verification at valtuutus.op.fi and then to the payment path at verkkomaksu.op.fi. OP Online Payment is provided by OP cooperative banks and OP Corporate Bank. Digital accessibility is regulated by the Finnish Act on the Provision of Digital Services.

This Accessibility Statement was created on 17 September 2020 and last updated on 10 March 2025.

Accessibility status of digital service

OP Online Payment meets the digital accessibility criteria in part. A professional assessment of the service’s accessibility on 11 February 2025 found shortcomings in 11 of the Level AA criteria of the WCAG 2.2 standard. The observations related to digital accessibility are listed below.

Inaccessible content

The accessibility of OP Online Payment was assessed for the part of identity verification and payment step. The key shortcomings in accessibility were related to differences in the operation of links and language options, programmatic name tags, programmatic grouping of components, and error notifications. The site does not fully support assistive technologies, such as screen readers or voice control. The accessibility requirements specified in the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) which the websites do not yet fully meet are listed below by theme.

Observations related to identify verification and payments steps

  • WCAG 1.1.1, 4.1.2 Logo – OP logos in the identity verification and payment views are programmatically inconsistent
  • WCAG 3.2.4, 2.5.3, 3.1.2 Language menu – Language menus used in the identity verification and payment views are programmatically inconsistent. In the identity verification view, language options are not available by voice control. In the payments view, language options are incorrectly pronounced by the screen reader
  • WCAG 2.4.3 Shifts - Focus is not shifted to the start of the page when the views change

Identity verification

  • WCAG 2.4.7 Skip link – The skip link used on the site is visually hidden
  • WCAG 3.2.2 Key code – When verifying identity with a key code, the focus is automatically shifted to the Verify button after entering information
  • WCAG 3.2.3 Focus order - When selecting Corporation representation, the Quit button is exceptionally located before the Continue button

Payments

  • WCAG 1.3.1 Programmatic sections – Page sections (header, content, footer) are not programmatically defined
  • WCAG 1.3.1, 4.1.3 Payment method selection - The selection buttons of payment method are not programmatically in the same group
  • WCAG 3.3.2, 2.5.3 From account dropdown menu – The dropdown menus used in the payment step are named incorrectly programmatically
  • WCAG 4.1.2, 2.4.6, 1.3.1 Error situation - The error status of the dropdown menu is marked visually but not programmatically, and the error notifications are not attached programmatically to the dropdown menu
  • WCAG 4.1.3 ”Hide invoice option” selection – When the user changes the selection, the screen reader incorrectly reads the whole content of the page

The issues are currently being fixed and the statement will be updated as the fixes are completed.
