OP Uusimaa Donations are action on behalf of Uusimaa
We donate to have a positive impact on people and the environment in the Uusimaa region. In doing so, we support wellbeing, build belief in the future and offer equal opportunities to lead a good everyday life.
OP Uusimaa's mission is to promote the sustainable prosperity, security and wellbeing of its owner-customers and operating region. In fulfilling our social responsibility, we make annual donations to non-profits, foundations and associations that do valuable work to benefit people and the environment in the Uusimaa region. We choose donation recipients on the basis of our values, sustainability programme and the themes that our owner-customers consider important. Donations complement our other social responsibility work, such as our support for children's and young people's hobbies, the "Summer job paid for by OP" campaign, coaching in financial literacy and the promotion of biodiversity.
In 2026, we donated a total of 150,000 euros to seven recipients. In particular, these donations promoted children's and young people's wellbeing and supported financial literacy, mental health, equity, older people's wellbeing and environmental education.

Mielenterveyden keskusliitto ry – €30,000
Mielenterveyden keskusliitto ry offers free-of-charge information, peer support, counselling and courses for people who have faced mental health challenges. Our donation supports activities in the Uusimaa region, enabling local mental health associations to help people who face challenges in daily life.
Aalto University Junior – €30,000
This donation is targeted at improving the financial literacy of children and young people. The related workshops explore themes related to saving money, responsible investing and the basics of managing personal finances. Our donation will allow the expansion of these activities to more children and youngsters.
HelsinkiMissio Gettogymi – €30,000
The Gettogymi initiative helps to keep young people away from violence and street gangs. At their neighbourhood gym, young people can train at a rule-based venue with coaches ready to discuss anything that is worrying them.
Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association/Clean Beach – €20,000
The Clean Beach initiative encourages people to combine tangible environmental acts with spending time in natural environments. The Kummikoulut friendship schools programme supports the environmental education of children and young people by offering a free and inspiring way to learn about local marine conservation.
Miina Sillanpään Säätiö – Ikävoimaa-valmentajat: €20,000
The donation supports cultural activities organised by the Miina Sillanpään Säätiö (Milla Sillanpää Foundation) for pensioners. Such activities enhance participants' agency and personal resources, ease loneliness and boost their sense of community and meaningfulness in daily life.
Supporting Foundation for Children and Youth with Disabilities ry Vamlas – €10,000
The Lähde leikkipuistoon! project organises playground playdates for children with disabilities and their families. This encourages families to become active in their local communities and raises awareness of children's needs.
Aalto University – teaching of cooperative activities – €10,000
This donation will help to maintain the teaching of a cooperative, community-based business model at Aalto University for the academic years 2026 to 2031. The course helps future experts to understand the importance of Finnish cooperatives to society and the economy.
