Two ways to grant a mandate with the Suomi.fi Web Service

A person authorised to act on your company’s behalf can mandate an accounting firm, or an employee of your organisation, to use the OP Accounting Records Service to order and download accounting records. You must grant a mandate for this via the Suomi.fi Web Service. Please note that private traders cannot grant mandates for use of the OP Accounting Records Service.

An accounting firm can also use the Suomi.fi Web Service to request a mandate from a company. In such a case, the company uses the Suomi.fi Web Service to approve the requested mandate. See the instructions below.

1. A company wants to grant a mandate – do as follows

  • Identify yourself in the Suomi.fi Web Service.
You can identify yourself with any bank’s user identifiers.
  • Select ‘Act on behalf of a company’ and choose the company you represent. Select ‘Grant a mandate’.
  • Under assignees, add a person or company. For example, you can agree to grant a mandate to your accounting firm, which will then grant a further mandate to the accountant in charge.
  • Under Mandate type, select ‘Mandate for transactions’. Under Mandate theme, select ‘View customer data held by a financial institution (Finanssilaitoksen asiakkuustietojen katselu)’.
  • Select the validity of the mandate.
  • Inform the assignee that they can now log into the OP Accounting Records Service.

2. An accounting firm wants to request a mandate from a company – do as follows

  • Identify yourself in the Suomi.fi Web Service.
You can identify yourself with any bank’s user identifiers.
  • Select ‘Act on behalf of a company’ and choose the company you represent. Select ‘Request mandates’.
  • Request a mandate on the basis of the business ID or name of the company, association or other organisation assigning the mandate.
  • Under Mandate type, select ‘Mandate for transactions’. Under Mandate theme, select ‘Seeing the details of a customer relationship with a financial institution’.
  • The accounting firm should request the mandate for itself, so that it can authorise its employees to act on behalf of the company assigning the mandates.
  • Select the validity of the mandate.
  • The mandate request will be sent to the assigner for confirmation via Suomi.fi e-Authorisations.
Because the recipient of the mandate request is a company, association or other organisation, you must notify the recipient about the mandate request.
