Caravan insurance
Caravan insurance covers your caravan and accessoriesSuitable cover for all caravans
In addition to the mandatory motor liability insurance, you can take out a voluntary Medium Motor Insurance or Maxi Motor Insurance for your caravan.
You can see the difference in the price of your seasonally rated Maxi Motor Insurance
The Maxi Motor Insurance of our caravan insurance is seasonally priced. The Maxi Motor Insurance is always valid, but you pay less for the winter months when you use your caravan less by default.
Benefits for loyal customers and owner-customers
As a Pohjola Insurance loyal customer and OP cooperative banks' owner-customer, you will get a discount on your insurance policies and increase your OP bonus. For instance, as a loyal customer and owner-customer, you will get a nearly 10% discount on the comprehensive motor vehicle insurance for your caravan.
Caravan insurance covers both travel and storage
It is easy to enjoy the freedom you get with a caravan when you know the insurance is there to protect you both on the road and during winter storage. We recommend that you take not only the mandatory motor liability insurance but also comprehensive motor vehicle insurance that covers losses to your caravan.
Both of our caravan policies, Maxi Motor Insurance and the cheaper Medium Motor Insurance, cover fire and theft losses. Select Maxi Motor Insurance if you want coverage to include collisions or, say, a tree falling over the caravan.
Cover also for fixed accessories
A caravan with mod cons is like a summer cottage on wheels. This is why it is good that caravan insurance also covers losses to the fixed accessories, such as standard refrigerator or cooker. Caravan insurance also covers any fixed awning tents or canopies.
Please note, however, that damage to, for example, any separate electrical equipment or other property brought into the trailer are not covered by the trailer insurance but your home insurance. Home insurance covers damage for up to 5,000 euros as a rule. If items are stolen from a campervan parked outside your home, place of study or holiday home or within a 50 km radius from them, the maximum compensation is 1,000 euros.
Before the caravanning season begins, check that the gas hose and the joints have no leaks. You can do this by, for example, spraying mild soap water over the hoses to detect any leakage.
Lock the caravan properly
The caravan must always be locked properly or stored in a locked space. In addition to locking the door, it is also important to lock the caravan with another lock or device, preventing it from being moved or coupled to a drawing vehicle.
If your caravan is nevertheless stolen, report the theft first to the police and then inform us. A loss report is easy to do on the op.fi service or on OP-mobile, which you will also receive a claim settlement decision more quickly.
The insurance is issued by Pohjola Insurance Ltd.
