A safe way to ensure that a call is from OP Financial Group
As a user of an OP mobile app, you can now ensure that the call you are receiving really is an OP cooperative bank, Pohjola Insurance or OP Life Assurance Company. When confirming the call details on OP-mobile or OP Business mobile, you can see the caller’s first name, company and the date and time of the call. At the same time, we verify that we are speaking to the right customer.
Confirmation of call details works on OP’s mobile apps when using OP's user IDs. You can download the app – OP-mobile or OP Business mobile – only to your mobile phone or tablet. In other words, you cannot confirm call details on your computer browser.
Make sure that you are using the latest version of the app. You can download and update OP-mobile and OP Business mobile from App Store or Google Play Store.
How the confirmation of call details works on OP-mobile
During the call, the customer service person can suggest – or you can ask – that the call details be confirmed. After that, confirm the call details as follows:
- Keep the call going and open OP-mobile. Don't log in.
- Tap Instructions and settings, then tap Customer service and then Confirm call details.
- If you are already logged into OP-mobile, select Customer info, then select Customer service and Confirm call details.
- Now you can see who is calling and from where.
- If the caller’s details match, confirm that you're now on a call with OP's customer advisor.
- Return to the ongoing phone call.
How the confirmation of call details works on OP Business mobile
When using OP Business mobile, either the customer service person asks or you ask for the confirmation of call details. After that, confirm the call details as follows:
- Keep the call going and open OP Business mobile. Don't log in.
- Tap the menu on the top left corner, then tap Customer service and then Confirm call details.
- Now you can see who is calling and from where.
- If the caller’s details match, confirm the call with the customer service person.
- Return to the ongoing phone call.
How you can ensure the safe management of your affairs when we call you
When we call you, the call typically relates to a message that you sent us on OP's service or your other use of our services. Always be suspicious if someone over the phone asks your online bank user identifiers, passwords or, say, a card number. A genuine bank or authority never asks for such information. Neither will we send you during a phone call any requests for payment, identification or op.fi login and ask you to confirm them.
If you suspect the caller to be a fraudster, hang up and call OP Customer Service at 0100 0500 (personal customers) or 0100 05151 (corporate customers). You can also message us on OP’s service, chat us (in Finnish) or visit an OP cooperative bank branch.
