OP Pohjola published its 14th Survey of Large Corporations today. This annual survey covers 250 of the largest companies operating in Finland and provides an exceptionally comprehensive view of their expectations and economic outlook.
Because large companies are Finland's biggest employers, their success has a broad impact on society. Our unique longitudinal survey of big businesses has become a mirror reflecting the future themes of Finland's economic and industrial policy discussion.
This year's Survey of Large Corporations shows new optimism among Finnish large enterprises: growing numbers of companies are seeking growth and their willingness to invest is increasing.
"Although growth appetite has not returned to the record levels seen before the war in Ukraine, positive development continues. Finland Ltd sees the time for growth approaching," says Katja Keitaanniemi, CEO of OP Corporate Bank.
Large companies are investing in AI and seeking international growth
Finnish large companies are expecting growth, especially from abroad. As well as developing their production capacity and facilities, they are directing most of their investment towards improving current products and services, and creating new ones.
"Large companies compete in global markets, but are coupled to Finnish SMEs through their supply chains, for example. If implemented, plans to increase production in Finland could benefit various parts of the country," says Keitaanniemi.
Large Finnish companies are also investing significantly in artificial intelligence and adopting new AI tools.
"It's encouraging to see that more big companies are prepared to invest and reinvent themselves. That's the key to sustainable economic growth and wellbeing," says Keitaanniemi.
The results are based on OP Pohjola's annual Survey of Large Corporations, which measures executives' views on business and economic developments. The survey results will be published in full in January 2026. A total of 155 senior executives representing 139 large Finnish corporations and large subsidiaries operating in Finland responded to the survey. According to their latest certified financial statements, the responding companies have a combined revenue of over 248 billion euros, and they employ over 585,000 people in total. The survey was conducted in autumn 2025. OP Pohjola carries out the Survey of Large Corporations in partnership with the Nordic Institute of Business and Society (NIBS) think tank founded by Aalto University professors.
