OP Financial Group makes annual donations to charity at national and local level, whereas local donation partnerships are managed by OP cooperative banks.

In 2025, we will support organisations such as:
- MIELI Mental Health Finland
- Save the Children Finland
- the Helsinki Deaconess Foundation and the Foundation's Taloustaito financial literacy project
- Finnish Association for Nature Conservation
- John Nurminen Foundation
When choosing where to donate, we look for activities that are important to society, nationally relevant and in line with responsible and sustainable values. Our donations also support our sustainability programme.
Supporting children and youngsters helps us to build a future filled with hope
This year's donations will target children's and youngsters' wellbeing by supporting mental health work, promoting financial literacy and the management of personal finances, and enhancing opportunities for participation in hobbies and education among children of low-income families. We will donate €50,000 to MIELI Mental Health Finland, €50,000 to Save the Children Finland, and €25,000 to the Helsinki Deaconess Foundation.
"We want to provide concrete support for the wellbeing of children and youths at a time when mental health issues and anxiety have increased among young people. By supporting family hobbies, we can reduce inequality among children and increase their wellbeing," explains Timo Ritakallio.
We will promote biodiversity and a thriving natural environment
In support of the Finnish natural environment and biodiversity, we will contribute €60,000 to the John Nurminen Foundation for conservation of the Baltic Sea and €60,000 to the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation for its conservation work.
"Nature is our most important form of shared wealth and belongs to everyone. It is also the basis of a sustainable and thriving economy. Most of OP Financial Group’s impacts on nature arise through the business activities of its corporate customers. We think that it's important to promote biodiversity in this way, as well as through our own and our customers' work," continues Timo Ritakallio.
