OP-Focus invests in the stocks of companies listed in Helsinki. Specialising in Finland, OP-Focus can rely on OP Wealth Management's extensive local expertise. When investing in OP-Focus, the investor can benefit from the portfolio manager’s professional competence, uncompromising risk management and monthly reporting – as well as enjoy the carelessness and tax benefits of fund investing. Active portfolio management does not refer to ensuring frequent buying and selling but, rather, applying a determined and bold view when taking investment decisions. Achieving the fund's target – to generate higher returns than the benchmark index – is not possible without taking steps deviating from the benchmark index. This is why a focused non-UCITS fund like OP-Focus requires a highly skilled portfolio manager with a deep insight into the target market. The strong performance of OP-Focus from over a decade is proof of high professional competence in its portfolio management.

OP-Focus is suitable for a return-seeking investor interested in the domestic equity market, who is not afraid of independent moves taken by the active portfolio management and who can tolerate volatility of the fund unit value. Finnish stocks often fluctuate significantly in value, and their performance may differ from the general movements of the global equity market. Consequently, OP-Focus is particularly suitable as a long-term investment. The fund is mainly recommended to an investor who intends to redeem his/her units after seven years at the earliest.

OP-Focus invests in the stocks of companies listed in Helsinki. While its emphasis is on large cap companies, the portfolio may also include liquid mid cap stocks. The fund focuses its investments on stocks of around 20 companies believed to have the best return potential at the moment. The investments of OP-Focus are mainly direct equity investments. A minimum of 75% and a maximum of 100% of the fund’s value is invested in equity markets. The equity weighting typically varies between 90 and 100%. The fund may also use derivative instruments to hedge against market changes, to replace direct investments and to otherwise promote efficient portfolio management.

As a non-UCITS fund, OP-Focus is not subject to as strict diversification requirements as a conventional mutual fund. The fund can only invest a maximum of 20% of its capital in a single company. At any given time, the fund can have a maximum of two investments with an over 10% weight of the portfolio. A maximum of a quarter of the fund’s value may be invested in the equity market of the rest of Europe. Besides making the right stock picks, a focused fund can vary its emphasis depending on the market outlook, for example by focusing on different industries or companies of varying sizes. In order to outperform its benchmark index, OMX Helsinki CAP Yield, the fund may take high active risk and the investment manager may depart significantly from the composition, weights and risk level of the benchmark index.
