Send us documents
You can send us death estate documents online, such as the report on family relationships, the estate inventory deed with appendixes or the power of attorney. By sending documents, you consent to us using them across OP Financial Group for managing matters related to the estate.
We will review the estate inventory deed once all documents related to the estate inventory have been sent to us. We will ask for additional information if we need any. Once we have received the deed of estate inventory and all required appendixes, as well as the possible additional information, reviewing the deed will usually take a few weeks. Read more about required appendixes.
Please note that if you send us a power of attorney through this service, it must be signed by hand. A power of attorney sent to us through the service is not signed electronically.
The easiest way to handle matters with us after the estate inventory is for the parties to the estate to fill in and sign our electronic power of attorney template directly through the op.fi service. You can access the power of attorney also with user identifiers issued by other Finnish banks.
Send us bills for payment
We process bills within five banking days. Send the bills in good time so that we have enough time to pay them on the due date.
This service is intended for paying bills before the estate inventory. After the estate inventory, the estate's authorised agent can pay bills by using their own OP user ID through OP-mobile or the op.fi service if authorised to do so in the death estate's power of attorney. Bills can also be paid after the estate inventory by using payment envelopes if the person has access rights to the account from which the bills are paid.
- Before the estate inventory, the death estate's account can only be used to pay the estate's primary bills, like funeral expenses and costs related to managing the estate. Such bills must be addressed to your loved one or the estate.
- Check that the information on the bill can be easily read (who the bill is addressed to, the payee and account number, amount, reference number and due date). The bills must be copies or photos of the official bills (with the barcode visible if possible).
- The debit account must be a current account. Bills can't be paid from savings accounts (such as a high-yield account).
- If you want to change the due date, write the due date of your choice on the bill by hand. Otherwise, bills will be paid on the due date stated on the bill.
- We will charge a service fee for the payment of bills based on our list of charges and fees. If the due date is over five days away, the fee is 2.80 euros per bill. If the bill is to be paid immediately, or the due date is less than five days away, the fee is 5.00 euros per bill.
- If the estate's account doesn't have enough money to pay the bills, we will contact the sender of the bill. If the sender has access to OP's digital services, we will contact them by a message on OP's service. If they do not, we will ask them to contact our Customer Service. If the sender is not a party to the death estate, we will ask that a party to the estate contact us.
