The bank is now conducting its Good Deeds Across Time survey for the third time. The survey gives our owner-customers a say on which responsibility-related theme they’d like to serve as the focus of their own OP cooperative bank’s corporate responsibility activities. In 2022, 43,000 owner-customers participated in the survey nationally.
Every year, OP Uusimaa takes meaningful action to support the wellbeing and the success of their owner-customers and the whole operating region. This year, the bank is supporting local associations and organizations with a sum of over 1.3 million euros.
- "It is very important for us to know what sort of corporate responsibility activities our owner-customers think we should focus on. Our Good Deeds Across Time survey is designed to allow you to offer your opinions on these matters, allowing us to focus meaningful action on our entire operating region," says Hanna Korhonen, the OP Uusimaa Communications and Marketing Director.
It is easy to participate to the Good Deeds Across Time survey – no login or registration is required. A link to the survey and additional information can be found here Good Deeds Across Time page of OP Media.
Presenting two new significant corporate responsibility projects based on the year 2022 survey
In 2022, the owner-customers of OP Uusimaa selected promoting the employment and education of young people, combating climate change and supporting biodiversity as the most important themes.
Last spring, OP Uusimaa started two new significant long-term partnerships on this basis. Our partners in this undertaking are the Uusimaa Regional Chapter of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation and the Association of Friends of the University Children's Hospitals. The bank supports both projects with an initial investment of €100,000, for a total sum of €200,000. In addition, the bank will pay €25 per each owner-customer of OP Uusimaa to one of the projects. The owner-customer gets to choose personally which project to support.
- "In addition to the two major projects, OP Uusimaa cooperates with more than 70 different associations around Uusimaa. We support leisure activities for children and young people, increase financial literacy and digital skills, support entrepreneurship, and promote youth employment and education," Hanna Korhonen says.
OP Uusimaa is also initialising its cooperation support search for local associations
OP Uusimaa seeks to support for associations of its area of operations by initialising the search for cooperation support. We are open for applications between 18 September 2023 to 29 October 2023. The selection of the recipients for cooperation support is based on what the owner-customers would like to focus on according to the ongoing Good Deeds Across Time survey. You can apply for cooperation support at https://www.lyyti.fi/reg/yhteistyotukihaku_2023
The decisions related to support are done during November, and all applicants are contacted by the end of 2023. Cooperation agreements with the selected associations will then be signed in 2024. The support is offered on one-off basis.
Support will be offered to local non-profit associations of the area of operations for OP Uusimaa, in other words those operating in Espoo, Helsinki, Hyvinkää, Järvenpää, Karkkila, Kauniainen, Kerava, Kirkkonummi, Lohja, Loviisa, Nurmijärvi, Pornainen, Porvoo, Sipoo, Siuntio, Tuusula, Vantaa and Vihti.
The application process for cooperation support has already been conducted several times. In 2022, 146 associations applied for support in 16 different locations. A total of approximately €75,000 in support was granted to 43 associations. The recipients for cooperation support for 2022 have been published at OP Uusimaa website at https://www.op.fi/web/op-uusimaa/vastuullisuustekoja/yhteistyohaku
