Currency Account for Private Customers

An account for, say, dollars, pesos and pounds

If you get money regularly from outside the euro area or make recurring non-euro payments, it pays to open a Currency Account.

  • You can open an account for each currency.
  • You open the account at a member cooperative bank branch, free of charge.

The value of funds in the account varies with foreign exchange rates.

Funds in the Currency Account generate OP bonuses. Learn more under the section ‘Owner-customer benefits and OP bonuses through banking services’!

OP cooperative bank owner-customers earn OP bonuses from:

  • Funds in savings accounts

  • Home loans, student loans and secured bank loans

  • Mutual funds and unit-linked insurance assets

  • Insurance premiums paid, such as home and motor vehicle insurance and continuous travel insurance

OP bonuses are used for the bank’s service charges and insurance premiums.

The account is granted by the OP cooperative bank.
