Best Price Protection ensures that you won’t pay too much

Best Price Protection will ensure that you will not have to postpone purchases in the hope of getting a better deal. If you find a product paid with OP Duo elsewhere at a price that is over 50 euros lower, we’ll refund the price difference to you.

Identity Theft Help will help if your details fall into the wrong hands

You will get personal help for preventing identity theft or fraud for investigating identity theft. For example, if someone has taken out a loan in your name or your details have been used for online purchases.

Product Protection Insurance covers your purchases for 365 days

Product Protection Insurance included in an owner-customer’s OP Duo covers purchases against breakage or theft. In other words, you won’t need to buy separate insurance for new items such as phones. The insurance is valid for 365 days.

Credit card company cover for credit purchases helps if problems occur

Under the Consumer Protection Act, you can apply for a refund from your credit card company if a retailer breaches a sales contract for a purchase made with credit. Credit card company cover for credit purchases helps if problems occur: based on the Consumer Protection Act, you can claim a refund from the credit card company if, for example, the product or service you buy is defective or lost in transport, or the company goes bankrupt before delivery

Best Price Protection reimburses for the price difference

  • If you find a product paid with OP Duo elsewhere at a lower price within 30 days, we’ll refund the price difference to you.
  • The price difference must be a minimum of 50 euros.
  • If the product has been bought on an online store, the business must also have a brick-and-mortar store in Finland.
Best Price Protection is insurance included in OP Duo. It will reimburse you for the price difference if you find the product elsewhere at a lower price within 30 days and the other insurance terms and conditions are fulfilled. 

Best Price Protection provides cover if:

  • You find the product paid with OP Duo in Finland elsewhere at a price that is over 50 euros lower within 30 days.
  • The business where you found the product at a lower price has a brick-and-mortar store in Finland.
 
Best Price Protection concerns, for example, mobile devices, computers, clothes, kitchen refrigeration devices and televisions.
 

Best Price Protection does not provide cover if:

  • You have found the same product outside Finland.
  • The price difference is less than 50 euros.
  • Products bought in a sale or, for example, in Black Friday or similar campaigns. See the terms and conditions for more detailed restrictions.

After the phone call, you’ll get a request for additional information by email. Reply to the email and attach the details of your card and the purchase for which you apply the difference between the prices.

Identity Theft Protection will help if your details fall into the wrong hands

  • You will get personal help for preventing identity theft or fraud for investigating identity theft.
  • For example, if your personal data is being misused or you have accidentally given your personal data to a suspicious caller, Identify Theft Protection is there to help you.

F-Secure's Identity Theft Help provides you with personal help in preventing identity theft and fraud, or investigating identity theft. 

You can call the service in the following incidents:

  • you encounter malware or hacking 
  • you have given your personal information to a suspicious caller or website 
  • you have lost your passport, wallet, driving licence or some other critical document 
  • you have received a suspicious email or phone call 


The purpose of the service is to offer advice to users on how to act when they fall victim to information leak, phishing, malware or hacking. As part of the service; F-Secure also offers guidance concerning certain events comparable with information leak in which, the user's wallet or passport, for example, has been stolen, as well as data security guidance. F-Secure or OP is not responsible for the correctness or comprehensiveness of the advice. The service is an advisory service and F-Secure or OP will not submit reports to authorities or send any other notifications on behalf of the user. Nor will they compensate for any financial losses.
 
How can I start using the service? 
The service will automatically be included in your OP Duo card from 1 December 2023.

Contact Identity Theft Help by calling at 0100 0510 (press 5: Identity Theft Help, Mon–Fri 8–18) to get personal help to clear up the situation. 

NOTE! If you suspect that your OP's credentials has fallen into the wrong hands, cancel them immediately by calling the OP Customer Service or, outside the opening hours, the OP Deactivation Service. 

Product Protection Insurance provides cover for your purchases and is included with owner-customer cards

  • As an owner-customer, you will get a refund if the product you purchased breaks or is stolen within one year from the time of purchase.
  • You won’t need to buy separate insurance for new items, such as phones.
  • The deductible is only 75 euros, which is less than with a traditional home insurance.

Accidents happen to all of us from time to time, from dropping a phone on the floor to spilling coffee on a laptop or breaking your brand-new glasses.

Product Protection Insurance covers purchases made with Duo against breakage. In other words, you won’t need to buy separate insurance for new items such as phones.

 

The insurance covers purchase you’ve made using OP Duo, or your purchases are insured whenever you pay with your OP Duo card. 

The insurance provides cover for the purchases for 365 days, or one year from the cardholder receiving the product.

Product Protection Insurance covers the purchases whether you pay for them online, at a brick-and-mortar location or through a service like Apple Pay.
 

Does the insurance have a deductible or maximum compensation amount?

In the event of loss, the insurance has a deductible of 75 euros. The maximum compensation per item is 2,000 euros.

 

If something happens, filing a loss report is simple on OP-mobile or at op.fi.

Credit card company cover for credit purchases helps if problems occur 

  • Under the Consumer Protection Act, you can apply for a refund from your credit card company if a retailer breaches a sales contract for a purchase made with credit.

You can seek a refund from the credit card company if

  • the product you purchased is lost in transit
  • the product you purchased is not delivered to you
  • there is a defect with the product that the vendor will not compensate you for, or
  • the vendor has gone bankrupt.

For example, in a situation where a tour operator cancels your journey and does not compensate you for it, or an airline goes bankrupt before the start of your journey, you can seek a refund.

Under the Consumer Protection Act, credit card company cover for credit purchases is valid for any purchases you make with your credit card. You can make the purchase online, at a brick-and-mortar location, or through a service like Apple Pay, in Finland or abroad.

In other words, using the credit feature gives you better cover for your purchases than other payment methods.

Does the cover for credit purchases have a deductible or maximum compensation amount?

The credit card company cover for credit purchases does not have a deductible or maximum compensation amount.

Under the Consumer Protection Act, you can apply for a refund from your credit card company if a retailer breaches a sales contract for a purchase made with credit. The credit card company cover for credit purchases provides you with cover for different breach-of-contract situations with the vendor, such as when a product you purchased is lost in transit.

As an owner-customer of an OP cooperative bank, you have 365-day credit card company cover for debit and credit purchases, which insures your card purchases once you receive the product, providing cover against breakage of the product, for example.

If you encounter a situation where a vendor is in breach of a contract, issue a complaint to the credit card company by following the instructions.

Applying for and using the card

  • OP Duo is a reliable and international Mastercard.
  • You can use contactless payment for all card purchases. Purchases of over 50 euros have to be confirmed by entering your PIN in the card reader, but you do not need to insert your card in the reader.
  • Add your card to Apple Pay or Google Pay™️ to pay easily with a smart device wherever you are.
  • You can easily check the card benefits from the digital info card wherever you go.

You can apply for OP Duo if

  • you are at least 18 years old
  • you use OP as your main bank
  • you have regular income from pay or a pension
  • your financial standing is sufficient and you have managed your personal finances well
  • you live permanently in Finland.

Apply for the card easily online. If you are an OP customer, log into op.fi and fill in the application. Once your application has been approved, you’ll get the card delivered directly to your home or office within 1–2 weeks, depending on the delivery method you selected.

Enable mobile payments Apple Pay and Google Pay

You can link your card to Apple Pay or Google Pay. These payment apps let you make payments in stores, online and in apps with just your smartphone. You don’t need your card or card details at the time of payment. 

With Apple Pay or Google Pay, you can also make contactless payments over 50 euros. 

You can enable Apple Pay or Google Pay if you have personal customer’s OP's credentials. Note that you need to be at least 13 years old to use Apple Pay and at least 16 years old to use Google Pay.

Get a handy info card for your phone where you can find all OP Duo benefits and the related contact information. The info card is saved to Apple Wallet in iOS phones and YourWallet in Android phones, which can be downloaded from the app store. Save the info card to your phone at op.fi/duo-info-card or by scanning a QR code.

OP Duo card costs

As part of the owner-customer’s daily services package, if you already have one of the OP's Visa-card (OP Debit, OP Classic, OP Gold).  €2 euros per month

Daily banking services package includes a current account with an online bank statement, OP's digital services and payment card. As an OP cooperative bank owner-customer, you’ll get services at a lower monthly cost. OP bonuses are primarily used to offset service charges.

Interest and charges  
Interest in case the credit has debt with interest based on a 3-month + 8,95 %
Account service charge if the credit has debt with interest €3.50 per month
Paper bill surcharge if paper bills are selected instead of e-invoices €3.00 per bill

The effective interest rate calculated for used credit of 2,000 euros is 21,05 % (01/2024). The calculation does not take into account the owner-customer's or other discounts. This calculation is based on the assumption that the card’s monthly charge is 4 euros and the monthly account service charge 3.50 euros, free of charge e-invoicing is in use, that the credit interest rate, fees and charges remain constant throughout the credit period, and the credit is repaid in 12 identical monthly instalments. The estimated total amount payable is 2,205.96 euros.
