In the euro area, using the card and credit costs the same as in Finland. An exception to this is when you withdraw cash at an ATM using your credit card. Each credit withdrawal costs 2 euros and 2.75% of the amount you withdraw.
When using your card in a country that has a non-euro currency, the amounts spent or taken out from an ATM are converted into euros by using the so-called wholesale exchange rate.
Visa and Mastercard have their own wholesale exchange rates. The rate varies daily. Your card transaction will be converted into euros using the rate valid on the day when Visa or Mastercard receives your card transaction. This is why different rates may be applied to purchases or withdrawals you have made on the same day. It often takes 1–3 days to transmit the transaction information.
Outside the euro area, for each purchase or withdrawal amount, OP charges a conversion fee that is 2.5% of the amount. Additionally, each withdrawal costs 2 euros and 2.75% of the amount you withdraw.
In most cases, paying in the local currency is the most inexpensive way to pay with a card. In that case, the exchange rate is determined by your own bank and you can avoid unpleasant surprises. If you choose conversion of the currency into euros at the time of payment, the merchant will charge a fee of its own.

The interest rate for OP's Visa cards (OP Classic, OP Gold and OP Platinum) is the 3-month Euribor + 8.95 percentage points if the credit has debt with interest. The monthly account service charge is 3.50 euros if the credit has debt with interest.
The effective interest rate calculated for used credit of 2,000 euros is 14,63 % (6/2021) if the customer has a daily service package. The estimated total amount payable is 2 145,70 euros.
The effective interest rate calculated for used credit of 2,000 euros is 15.07% (6/2021) if the customer has no daily service package. This calculation is based on the assumption that the card’s monthly charge is 2.95 euros and the monthly account service charge 3.50 euros, that the credit interest rate, fees and charges remain constant throughout the credit period, and the credit is repaid in 12 identical monthly instalments. The estimated total amount payable is 2,156.15 euros.

All OP payment cards are linked to either Visa Account Updater (VAU) or Mastercard Automatic Billing Updater (ABU).
Thanks to the VAU or ABU service, your payment card details are automatically updated in those subscription and streaming services to which you have given your card details and which are using the service. These include services such as Netflix, Spotify, Google and iTunes. The service ensures seamless use of subscription and streaming services when your OP card is renewed.
At the moment, the VAU service provides the merchant with the details of your new Visa card also when your previous card has been cancelled due to loss, theft or suspected misuse. If necessary, we can prevent transmission of your card details to merchants using the service.
