The Finnish Medical Association’s membership benefits include Pohjola Travel Insurance policies with permanent discounts
Finnish Medical Association members get a 30 % discount on traveller's insurance. The Traveller's Insurance exceptionally includes cover for expenses caused by an accident also in the daily environment, when the scope of the insurance includes both domestic and foreign travel.
In Pohjola Traveller's Insurance, travel in Finland refers to journeys to a destination at least 50 kilometres from the insured person’s home, place of work or study or holiday home, measured as straight-line distance. We have expanded our insurance cover to members of the Finnish Medical Association by removing the kilometre restriction from traveller's insurance policies issued via the Association. This means that the insurance also covers medical treatment expenses of leisure-time accidents that occur in day-to-day activities not considered travel, such as at home or at a holiday home.
10 % discount on luggage insurance. When travelling to a predetermined destination, luggage insurance covers not only necessities but also clothes and accessories up to 500 euros if the luggage handed in for transportation arrives late.
Property insurance at discount prices
As a member of the Finnish Medical Association, you receive the following permanent discounts on new property insurance policies.
- 5 % discount on home insurance, liability and legal expenses insurance, valuables insurance and small boat insurance.
- 10 % discount on forest insurance.
Damage to home and holiday home contents outside the place of insurance, in Finland and other Nordic countries, is indemnified up to 7,000 euros.
Comprehensive motor vehicle insurance policies at reduced prices
As a member of the Finnish Medical Association, you get a discount on a new Super Motor Insurance and Standard Motor Insurance for a passenger car or van in private use, and on a new Maxi Motor Insurance policy for a campervan or caravan.
- 10 % discount on the first year of Super Motor Insurance premiums.
- 20 % discount on Standard or Maxi Motor Insurance premiums for the first 12 months.
60 % increase on life insurance free of charge
We offer Finnish Medical Association members and their spouses living in the same household a cost-free 60 % increase in the amount of life insurance benefit. This benefit applies to new insurances and the amount of life insurance benefit must be between EUR 10,000 and 50,000. The amount of the cost-free increase will be confirmed annually, and this 60 % increase will be valid in 2023.
