OP Corporate Bank plc to issue its first-ever Green Bond

OP Corporate Bank plc issues a EUR 500 million green bond in accordance with OP Financial Group’s Green Bond Framework. The green bond was priced on 19 February 2019 and it will be issued on 26 February 2019.

The inaugural green bond is targeted at international responsible institutional investors. Proceeds raised with the green bond will be allocated to sustainable corporate lending. Eligible sectors to be funded include renewable energy, green buildings and sustainable land use through sustainable forestry.

"We recognise our role and responsibility as one of Finland's biggest corporate lenders. The green bond issuance supports OP's goal of channelling financing to investments that are sustainable in terms of the environment and economy and responds to growing investor demand," says Katja Keitaanniemi, President and CEO of OP Corporate Bank.

The issuance is a senior unsecured green bond amounting to 500 million euros, with a maturity of 5 years. It attracted great interest among international investors: the issuance was oversubscribed four times and involved over 100 investors. OP attained all targets set for its green bond issuance.
