Consolidation of Finnair Corporation’s shares on 20 March 2024

Finnair’s Board of Directors has proposed that the General Meeting could make the decision on the consolidation of the company’s shares, i.e. reducing the number of shares so that in the future, a single share would be equivalent to 100 of the company’s current shares. If ownership is less than can be divided by 100, it is rounded up to a single stock to avoid fractions.

According to the proposal, the consolidation of shares will be implemented in a book-entry system after the end of the stock exchange on 20 March 2024. The aim is to register the company’s new total number of shares in the Trade Register by the estimated date of 21 March 2024. Trading in the company’s new total number of shares is expected to commence in Nasdaq Helsinki under the new ISIN code on 21 March 2024.

Example:
If you own 60,000 Finnair shares, you will own 600 new Finnair shares after the consolidation. Even if the number of shares changes, the share of ownership will remain the same. In other words, the consolidation will not affect the value of your holdings.

If implemented, the consolidation of shares will not require any actions on the part of Finnair’s shareholders. Any trades made with Finnair Corporation’s shares (FI0009003230) between (the estimated period of) 19–20 March 2024 will be changed to Finnair Corporation’s new shares. The sales prices of the original trades will be transferred to the sales prices of the new shares. There may be delays before these sales become visible in custody. These price updates will be performed centrally in OP.
