We will offer an Equity Savings Account free of charge for under 26-year-olds

The Equity Savings Account that has been included in our service range since 29 October 2021 is now free of charge for our customers under 26 years of age. With this change, we want to motivate young people in saving and investing.

The Equity Savings Account has around 49,000 users, of whom 27% are under 26-year-olds. The account is included in the saver's service package that we offer free of charge to OP cooperative banks’ owner-customers and will from now on offer to all our customers aged under 26 as well. All new Equity Savings Accounts are free of charge immediately from the opening date. For the already existing Equity Savings Account, we will debit monthly charges afterwards, which is why their first free-of-charge month is June.

Other customers pay €2.99 per month.

We still charge a fee for purchases and sales of shares based on our list of charges and fees.

Through the Equity Savings Account, customers can invest in quoted shares of Finnish companies in such a way that they do not directly pay taxes on income and dividends. This is how gains accrue more interest over time. Tax will not be levied until the customer withdraws money from the equity Savings Account or close it.
