Amended Debt Collection Act entered into force on 1 May 2022

The amended Debt Collection Act entered into force at the beginning of May. The biggest amendments relate to the collection of outstanding corporate debts.

The amended Act brought changes, for example, to maximum collection charges, the maximum number of chargeable recovery measures, the minimum time between measures and the debtor’s total cost liability. There were also changes in the electronic sending of demands for payment of outstanding consumer and corporate debts too.
