OP young people's group
Talking about money is important – but how and where?
OP’s young people’s group (15–19-year-olds) convenes to discuss what kind of information youngsters need about money and their personal finances.
How to communicate about money in a way that really grabs young folk? And what about AI – how can it help us to enhance youngsters’ financial literacy? What kind of marketing and advertising on financial literacy should we direct at young people?
The first young people’s group was active from the autumn of 2023 to the spring of 2024. Since then, this valuable work has continued – OP’s second young people’s group started work in the autumn of 2024.
What does the group do?
-
The group works on assignments (on how to communicate with youngsters about money and finances, and on using AI) in two hackathons. In addition, remote meetings are held to exchange ideas and make plans.
-
Group members are youngsters who want to shape the discussion of young people's finances. They are not expected to have previous experience or demonstrate knowledge of the topics – what matters is enthusiasm, motivation and opinions.
Thanks for seeing potential in young people and daring to hear what we have to say when you plan issues that involve us. Thanks for this wonderful experience <3
What do members get out of the group?
-
Youngsters selected to join the group are paid a fee.
-
They also get a certificate of employment and new experiences and contacts. Most of all, they have a wonderful opportunity to influence how financial skills are discussed and what young people should know about money and personal finances.
How do I apply to join the young people's group?
The application round for the young people’s group of autumn 2024 to spring 2025 has now ended. The next round will be announced through OP’s communications channels and on this website.
