A better tomorrow

OP Uusimaa wants to be the most responsible financial services provider in Finland. We want to be an environmentally friendly bank and bear social responsibility regarding the wellbeing of the people in our operating region – now and in the future. To us, responsibility is a mode of operation. We support leisure activities for children and young people, increase financial literacy and digital skills, support entrepreneurship, and promote youth employment and education.

Each of our owner-customers always has an opportunity to have a say, as our customers own this bank. We support the following projects chosen by our new owner-customers:

 

Care and protection of biodiversity

We restore and protect the most endangered biotopes in Uusimaa. 

We tend to the traditional landscapes that are home to countless rare and endangered plant and animal species, for example. Nature diversity also helps slow down the effects of climate change.

We want to play our part in making sure that future generations will be able to live in an unspoiled and varied environment.

Supporting the health of children and young people

We support Lastenklinikoiden Kummit ry's project to intensify medication and equipment research at the New Children's Hospital. 

The aim of the project is to produce more efficient, more researched and safer future medical care for children and young people in Finland.

The research may target children's individualised cancer treatment, the safe development of premature babies and child-friendly treatment of diabetes, for example. There are currently more than 500 children's illnesses awaiting clinical study.
