Accessibility statement for the general parts and functionalities of the op.fi service

This statement concerns the accessibility of the general parts and functionalities of the op.fi service. At the first stage, the statement seeks to describe the accessibility of the general parts insofar as their use is connected with statutory insurance. The statement will be specified in 2020 to cover the broader use of the op.fi website.

The Op.fi service (www.op.fi) is the website for companies belonging to OP Financial Group. OP Financial Group comprises OP Cooperative, its Group companies (such as OP Corporate Bank plc, OP Insurance Ltd, OP Life Assurance Company Ltd and OP-Services Ltd), OP Cooperative's member banks, OP Bank Group Mutual Insurance Company, OP Bank Group Pension Foundation and OP Bank Group Pension Fund, and other existing and future companies, entities and foundations, over which at least one of the aforementioned organisations alone or together exercises control.

The accessibility of the website has been assessed by accessibility experts working for OP Financial Group on a project basis. Self-assessments have also been performed with regard to the accessibility of the website.

The following systems have been used in the self-assessments:

  • Accessibility on desktop computers has been tested using the Chrome web browser and NVDA screen reader software.
  • Accessibility on mobile devices has been tested using Apple devices, the Safari web browser (touch gestures) and the VoiceOver screen reader software.

The provisions on accessibility are included in the Act on the Provision of Digital Services. This accessibility statement was prepared on 12 September 2020.

Accessibility status

There are defects in the accessibility of the general parts and functionalities of the Op.fi website. Corrections will be made as the services are updated. The statement will be updated as the corrections are completed.

Non-accessible content

The menus in the op.fi service do not yet support the use of assisting technologies, such as screen readers. The menus work best using the Safari browser and the VoiceOver screen reader. There are also defects in labels and graphic elements in the mobile menu. The mobile menu also does not work as expected. It has been estimated that these defects will be eliminated during the first half of 2021.

A label is missing from the search field in the service search, and the search button does not have text understood by the screen reader. The carousel on the page cannot be stopped, and neither can its paging control used with the keyboard.

There are problems in keyboard use and showing keyboard focus in places. The links on the directory pages cannot be read using the screen reader or used from the keyboard.

The service colour contrasts do not fulfil accessibility requirements, and there are errors in the link styles.

As for content, images have graphic elements, but some of them have been used unnecessarily. In addition, there are problems with page headings and, for example, some of the texts have been marked as headings, even if they were not.

The PDF attachments in the service will be converted to make them accessible. The below-mentioned defects may occur in some of the documents.

The site does not yet meet the following accessibility requirements specified in the WCAG 2.1 guidelines (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).
