AKT’s strike is impacting shipments to our customers across the country

The strike of the Finnish Transport Workers’ Union AKT that started on 15 February is slowing down the delivery, processing and transport of mail across the country, and the impacts of the strike will also be reflected in the banking and insurance fields in the coming weeks.

The strike will also affect mailings sent by us, so they may arrive with a delay. Please also note that letters sent to us by our customers, such as payment envelopes, may arrive late.

Matters to note in managing banking transactions after AKT’s strike

Are you running low on key codes? If necessary, pick up a new key code list at an OP bank branch

Were you notified on OP-mobile or op.fi that there are less than 20 key codes left on your key code list?

If you use the key code list often, such as daily, and you suspect that you may run out of key codes, pick up a new key code list at an OP bank branch nearest to you. Please note: you need to have at least three key code pairs left on your old list to replace the list.

If you run out of key codes, and/or you are not able to switch to a new key code list online, visit the OP bank branch nearest to you with a passport or picture identity card.

Did you know that if you enable OP-mobile, you can manage your banking and insurance transactions without a key code list? On OP-mobile, you can log in and confirm payments and transactions with Mobile key.

Cards will arrive with some delay

The strike will cause delays in the arrival of new and replacement cards. Your card will function normally until the end of the expiration date on the card. If you temporarily have no valid card available, you can withdraw cash at a bank branch. You can also use the Apple Pay or Google Pay apps without a physical card.

Repayment of card credit, Flexible Consumer Credit and Special Consumer Credit

Please note that although bills may arrive with delay, you still need to repay your credit as agreed. You can find the credit billing details on the previous bill, on OP-mobile and on op.fi.

Possible delays in the delivery of payment envelopes and bills

Bills sent in payment envelopes may not arrive on time for processing due to the strike. Return envelopes sent to customers may also be late. If possible, please use payment methods other than payment envelopes. If a bill has already arrived, please contact the payee to request a due date postponement because of the strike.

Bills may also not arrive on time. For any upcoming bills, please use e-invoicing or direct payment if possible to avoid the strike affecting the payment of the bill. You can discuss the use of direct payment by calling our Customer Service at +358 100 0500 (Mon–Fri 8–16, local/mobile network rate).

View and print out online bank statements, regardless of time and place

The strike will also affect the mailings of printed bank statements. You can easily view your online bank statements on OP-mobile and the op.fi service. If your account uses a paper bank statement, you can change it to an online bank statement on the op.fi service.

AKT’s strike will delay the delivery of insurance documents

AKT’s strike will unfortunately also cause delays and disruptions to the delivery of insurance documents such as claim settlement decisions and the ordering of certificates of insurance.

Once you activate our digital services, you can use the op.fi service to manage your insurance matters at any time of the day. You can print out Green Cards, travel insurance cards or other certificates of insurance you need by logging into the op.fi service by opening the insurance details in the Insurance section. You can find more detailed instructions on the op.fi service under Personal customers – Insurance – Services – Certificate of insurance.

If necessary, you can also request more payment time for an insurance bill easily at op.fi, on OP-mobile or by contacting our Customer Service.
