Changes to the card – How do I change the name on my card?
You can’t order a card with your new name until your new name is shown as updated on the op.fi service. Your new name will be updated in the bank’s systems after you have registered it with the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. Ordering a card at op.fi is easy. Features – What’s the difference between offline and online cards?
All OP cards are offline cards, except for OP Basic, which is an online card. Whenever you pay with an OP Basic card, the payment reader will contact your bank to check that there is money in your account. If the payment reader can’t connect to the bank, it won’t be able to check your account and won’t accept the card payment. For this reason, an online card doesn’t always work on trains, ships, aeroplanes or, for example, at ATMs. Offline cards work in such cases. Mobile payments using services such as Apple Pay and Google Pay work in the same locations as the card added to the payment service. OP mobile does not send notifications about offline card transactions – situations in which a payment reader doesn’t contact the bank.
Paying with the card – With which cards can I pay abroad?
You can use all OP payment cards to make payments abroad. In some countries, card payment is still rare and cash is used more commonly.
Paying with the card – What should I do if my card expires during the journey?
If your card expires, say, 05/23 and you are on a journey half of the month, you can safely use the card until the last day of May. So, the card is valid through the last day of the month shown on the card. You’ll get a new card before the expiry of your old card, generally about one month before the expiry date. If you intend to travel for a longer time, it is advisable to renew your card before leaving. Do that well in advance before your current card expires, or at least 2.5 months before the expiry date. This is how you ensure that you’ll have a new card before you leave on a journey. If you, however, order a new card when the expiry date of your current card is less than 2.5 months, you will get two cards. This is because you have already been automatically ordered a replacement card. You can start using the card you ordered yourself, with a longer validity period. You can destroy the card sent to you automatically by cutting it in half across the chip and magnetic stripe.
Paying with the card – Can I still use the card during its last validity month?
If your card expires, say, 05/23, you can safely use it until the last day of May. So, the card is valid through the last day of the month shown on the card. You will receive a new card before your current one expires.

Changes to the card – Are card details updated automatically to streaming services?
All payment cards are linked to either the Visa or Mastercard service which update card details automatically to Netflix, Spotify, Google, iTunes and others. This automatic update makes life easier and ensures a seamless continuation of services while an expiring or a damaged card is being replaced, for example. Many service providers are already using automatic update, and more are joining in constantly. If a card is deactivated as lost or stolen or when the card details are at risk, the customer must update the renewed card's details with any services they use.
