Setting up Google Pay is the easiest on OP-mobile

Set up Google Pay either on OP-mobile or on the Google Wallet app. Then add your card to Google Wallet, and you're ready to pay! Please notice that you need to be at least 16 years old to use Google Pay.

1. Open OP-mobile and log in.

2. Go to Money and select the card you want to add.

3. Go to the top right corner and open card settings.

4. Tap Add to Google Pay. Follow the instructions and accept the terms of use.

How to set up Google Pay on OP-mobile

  1. Open OP-mobile and enter your Mobile key PIN to log in.
  2. Go to Money and select the card you want to add.
  3. Open card settings and tap Add to Google Pay.
  4. Accept the terms of use. You can now start using Google Pay!

How to set up Google Pay on the Google Wallet app

  1. Download the Google Wallet app on your phone.
  2. Open the app and select Credit or debit card.
  3. Enter your card's information as instructed.
  4. Accept the terms of use.
  5. Confirm adding the card on OP-mobile with your Mobile key PIN. You can now start using Google Pay!

To be able to add your card, check that you have the latest version of OP-mobile. If you want to pay with a smartwatch, set up Google Pay on the Google Pay app.

Why should I add both debit and credit features to Google Wallet?

You can add as many payment cards to Google Wallet as you like. If you have a combination card and you add its debit and credit features to Google Wallet, you can choose to pay with debit or credit depending on the situation.

When you pay with Google Pay, you get the same benefits* as when you pay normally with your card. If you're an owner-customer and pay with your combination card on Google Pay, you get Product Protection Insurance for your purchase.

How to pay with Google Pay

With Google Pay, you can pay in stores, on websites and apps. Use Google Pay wherever you see either the contactless or Google Pay symbols.

How to pay with Google Pay in a store

  • If you're paying an amount below 50 euros, wake up your phone and hold it close to the payment reader until the payment is made.
  • If you're paying an amount over 50 euros, first unlock your phone. Then hold your phone close to the payment reader until the payment is made.

How to pay with your smartwatch using Google Pay

  • On your watch, open the Google Wallet app.
  • Hold your watch over the contactless payment reader until you hear a sound or feel vibration from your watch.

How to pay with Google Pay on an app or website

With Google Pay, you can pay on many apps and websites. You don't need to enter your card information, but just confirm the payment with your phone or smart device.

  1. Check whether the app or website accepts Google Pay.
  2. Tap the Google Pay button.
  3. Check the details and confirm the payment.

Google Pay also works with OP Business Debit

You can also add your OP Business Debit to Google Pay. When adding it, you need to use a personal customer's user ID for OP eServices. Add the card either on OP-mobile or on the Google Pay app.

Note that Google Pay can't be set up with a corporate customer's user ID or on OP Business mobile. If the card has been granted only for making deposits and not for making payments, you can't use Google Pay with it.

Google Pay is a safe way to pay

Google Pay is a safe and reliable way to pay in stores, on websites and apps.

  • You don't need to enter your PIN on the payment reader.
  • To pay for bigger purchases, first unlock your device.
  • Your card details aren't saved to the app or your device and they won't be forwarded to the merchant when you pay.

What to do if I lose my phone or device with Google Pay?

If you lose your phone or smart device where Google Pay is set up, immediately contact OP Deactivation Service.

 

Google Pay is a mobile payment app with which you can pay easily using an Android device or smartwatch in stores, on websites and apps. You can also pay with a smartwatch running on Wear OS.

When you pay, you don’t need your card or its details, because the payment is made with your device.

To pay with Google Pay, you need to add your payment card to the Google Pay app – either via OP-mobile or the Google Pay app.

Use Google Pay wherever you see the contactless symbol, the Google Pay logo or the Buy with Google Pay button.

You need the following:

  • An Android device running Lollipop 5.0 or higher.
  • Your device must have NFC for making contactless payments in stores.
  • A valid OP-Visa card.
  • OP’s user ID (valid eServices Agreement, Online Banking Agreement or Digital Services Agreement).
  • If you’re aged between 16 and 17, your guardian needs to have OP’s user ID.
  • The latest version (at least 45.0) of OP-mobile if you’re adding a card on OP-mobile.

You need to be at least 16 years old to use Google Pay. You also need OP’s Visa card and a compatible Android device.

In addition, you must have OP’s user ID to confirm adding the card.

  • After logging into OP-mobile, you can add a card to Google Pay.
  • Alternatively, you can add a card on Google Pay. In that case, adding the card must be separately confirmed either on OP-mobile or by calling OP Customer Service at 0100 0500 (press 5 for service in English, then press 1 for cards, card payment and invoicing).

If you’re under 18, ask your guardian to call OP Customer Service to confirm your card. Your guardian will be asked to identify themself with their own OP user ID.

If you’re aged between 16 and 17 and have an OP eServices Agreement signed after 10 December 2020, you can log into OP-mobile and add your card to Google Pay yourself. Alternatively, you can add it on Google Pay and select OP-mobile as the confirmation method.

In stores - You can pay with Google Pay around the world in all stores that accept contactless payments with Visa cards.

On websites and apps - You can use Google Pay on websites and and many apps that accept Google Pay. Just select “Pay with Google Pay” or “Google Pay as a payment method”.

In stores

You can pay with Google Pay in a store if you see the contactless symbol on the payment reader.

  • If you're paying an amount below 50 euros, wake up your phone and hold it close to the payment reader until the payment is made.

With a smartwatch

For smartwatch payments, the contactless payment amount is not limited. When you want to pay, open your watch with your access code. Open the Google Pay app. Hold your watch near the payment reader until you hear a sound or feel vibration from your watch.

On apps and websites

You can use Google Pay on websites and many apps, and avoid having to create an account or give your card details at the time of purchase. Just select Buy with Google Pay and follow the instructions. In Google Play Store, you can see which apps accept Google Pay.

2. Select the Google Pay button.

3. Check that your details are correct.

4. Confirm the payment.
